SunSirs: Stable Demand of China Domestic Wood Pulp Market

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of June 23, the market price of sofwood pulp was 4,350.00 RMB/ ton, and that of hardwood pulp was 3,550.00 RMB/ ton. At present, the domestic wood pulp market is in stable operation. Up to now, the price of sofwood pulp is 4.25% lower than that at the beginning of the month, and that of hardwood pulp is 4.9% lower than that at the beginning of the month.

 

In recent years, the domestic wood pulp market has been running stably, the stocks of sofwood pulp and hardwood pulp are high, the overall market recovery is slow, the demand for sofwood pulp is not good, the transaction is cold, and the actual situation is discussed. At present, the reference quotation range of sofwood pulp is: Silver Star 4,300-4,350 yuan / tons, and the price range of hardwood pulp is 3,600-3,700 yuan / ton. Previously, the demand for wood pulp in China has shown a gradual upward trend. Due to the strict environmental protection policy in 2018, which was the first decline in China's pulp industry in five years, the consumption in 2019 continued to increase. According to the statistics of the papermaking association, the total consumption of wood pulp in 2019 was 96.09 million tons, an increase of 2.36% compared with 2018. In 2019, the consumption of wood pulp accounts for 37% of all wood pulp. The domestic environmental protection policy was continuously strengthened, and the consumption of imported pulp was also increasing. In 2019, China China imported 24.09 million tons of waste pulp, up 9.7% year on year. The quantity of imported pulp in China was always high. Generally speaking, most of the raw materials of wood pulp were still to be imported.

Hardwood pulp: on June 22, the commodity index of hardwood pulp was 77.17, which was the same as that of the previous day, setting a new low in the cycle, 44.02% lower than the highest point of 137.86 on November 13, 2017. (Note: cycle refers to 2012-11-30 to now)

Softwood pulp: on June 22, the commodity index of coniferous wood pulp was 89.54, the same as that of the previous day, a new low in the cycle, 41.13% lower than the highest point of 152.11 on November 8, 2017. (Note: cycle refers to 2013-09-01 till now)

According to the wood pulp analyst of SunSirs, the wood pulp market will be stable in the short term, and the overall market recovery will take a certain time.
