[1] Calcium carbide rose 1.02% in 2019

According to the sample price monitored by SunSirs, the ex factory price of calcium carbide in the northwest region rose in 2019. As of December 17, the average ex factory quotation of mainstream carbide manufacturers was 2,703.33 RMB/ton, up 27.33 RMB/ton or 1.02% compared with 2,676.00 RMB/ton quoted at the beginning of the year.

[2] Calcium carbide rose 16.31% in the first quarter

In the first quarter of 2019, the price of calcium carbide rose sharply, from 2,676.00 RMB/ton on January 1 to 3,112.50 RMB/ton on March 31. The price rose 436.50 RMB/ton, or 16.31%.

[3] Calcium carbide fell 8.65% in the second quarter

In the second quarter, the price of calcium carbide first fell and then rose. The ex factory price of calcium carbide first fell from 3,120.00 RMB/ton on April 1 to 2,550.00 RMB/ton on June 3. The price fell by 570.00 RMB/ton, or 18.27%, and then rose to 2,850.00 RMB/ton on June 30, up 11.76%. Overall, the price of calcium carbide fell in the second quarter, down 8.65%.

[4] Calcium carbide rose 3.77% in the third quarter

In the third quarter, the carbide market experienced ups and downs. The ex factory price of calcium carbide first increased from 2,875.00 RMB/ton on July 1 to 3,033.33 RMB/ton on July 18, with a price increase of 158.33 RMB/ton, or 5.51%; then it fell to 2,833.33 RMB/ton on September 2, or 6.59%; finally, it rose to 2,983.33 RMB/ton on September 30, or 5.29%. Overall, the price of calcium carbide rose by 3.77% in the third quarter.

[5] Calcium carbide fell 9.39% in the fourth quarter

In the fourth quarter, the price of calcium carbide fell seriously. The ex factory price of calcium carbide fell from 2,983.33 RMB/ton on October 1 to 2,703.33 RMB/ton on December 17. The price fell by 280.00 RMB/ton, or 9.39%. In October, PVC plant began to conduct centralized maintenance, and the price fell rapidly.

[6] The highest monthly increase is 13.59%

In March 2019, the ex factory quotation of calcium carbide increased from 2,740.00 RMB/ton on March 1 to 3,112.50 RMB/ton on March 31, up 372.50 RMB/ton, the largest monthly increase in 19 years, up 13.59%.

[7] The largest monthly decline is 15.85%

In May 2019, the ex factory price of calcium carbide fell from 3,050.00 RMB/ton on May 1 to 2,566.67 RMB/ton on May 31, and the price fell by 483.33 RMB/ton, the largest monthly decline, down 15.85%.

[8] In 2019, the maximum price difference of calcium carbide is 602.50 RMB/ton

On April 12, the ex factory price of calcium carbide was 3,152.50 RMB/ton, the highest price this year. On June 3, the price of calcium carbide was 2,550.00 RMB/ton, which is the lowest price of calcium carbide this year. Compared with the highest price, the highest difference between the price of calcium carbide is 602.50 RMB/ton.
