Dragged down by the supply and demand side, the price of chloroform fell sharply in June. According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, as of June 30, the price of chloroform bulk water in Shandong was 3,012 RMB/ton, down 10.07% from the 3,350 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month. After the sharp decline in May, the decline of chloroform narrowed in June. First, the impact pressure on the supply side converged in June compared with that in May; secondly, although the price of methanol fluctuated, it still had a certain support for chloroform; finally, The start of downstream refrigerant operation fell slightly, which had a negative impact on chloroform.
In the first half of June, Jinling and other factories in Shandong began to reduce the load one after another, which formed a certain stimulus and support for the market; however, the domestic supply pressure was still relatively large, and the market continued to decline in the middle and late June.
In June, the spot price of raw material methanol fluctuated and consolidated, and the cost side was first strong and then weak. According to the understanding of SunSirs, as of June 30, the price of methanol was 2,620 RMB/ton, a slight increase of 0.10% from the 2,617 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month, and the monthly high was 2,715 RMB/ton. In June, methanol was mainly affected by fluctuations in the price of raw coal, and although methanol fluctuated, the cost side still had support for chloroform.
The demand for refrigerant R22 was insufficient, coupled with the fact that major refrigerant manufacturers were still not operating at a high level, the demand for chloroform was weak.
The methane chloride data analyst of SunSirs believes that the downstream demand has weakened and the chloroform market is generally weak. However, after the sharp drop in May and June, the risk of chloroform falling has gradually decreased. In addition, the raw material surface still has certain support. It is expected that the price of chloroform will fluctuate within a narrow range in the later period.
