September 22 2021 13:45:14SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the price of bromine rose. The market price of bromine on September 18 was 45,937.5 RMB/ton, a 52.84% increase over the same period last year. The Bromine Commodity Index on September 18 was 160.15, the same as previous day, a decrease of 0.91% from the highest point in the cycle of 161.62 points (2021-07-01), and an increase of 171.81% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29, 2014. (Note: Period refers to 2011-09-01 to present)

Analysis review

On September 18, the domestic bromine price rose, and the mainstream of Shandong enterprises reported 44,000-50,000 RMB/ton. The bromine price continued to rise this week. The output of bromine companies in Shandong declined, and the manufacturers in Changyi were basically suspending production. Although the downstream flame retardant and intermediate industries of bromine stopped production recently, the demand for bromine was acceptable, and the price of bromine was raised.

In terms of raw materials: the domestic sulfur market was temporarily operating stably, and the quotations of refineries in various regions were stable according to their own shipments. Refineries in the domestic region were operating normally, the inventories were low, quotations from manufacturers were high, downstream traders purchased on-demand, corporate shipments were relatively stable, and the sulfur market would be temporarily stable in the future. More attentions should be paid to downstream follow-up.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ analysts believe that the overall supply for bromine has increased slowly, but the downstream flame retardant and intermediate industries of bromine still support bromine, and the demand for bromine is still acceptable. It is comprehensively estimated that the price of bromine will continue to rise in the later period in the short term, depending on the downstream market demand.
