SunSirs: China LNG Imports Drop by Over 50% Weekly

The real-time liquefied natural gas (LNG) import to ship data released by the China Natural Gas Information Terminal (E-Gas system) shows that during the week of February 16th to February 22nd, it is estimated that China will import a total of 8 ships of LNG through coastal LNG receiving stations, with an import volume of approximately 530,000 tons, compared to the previous value of 1.19 million tons.
That week, China's LNG imports decreased by 55.5% from 1.19 million tons to 530,000 tons, indicating a significant contraction in the supply side. This may lead to a tightening of supply and demand in the domestic spot market, pushing up the spot price of liquefied natural gas. The reduction in imports reflects potential supply shortages, which is favorable for the spot market.
