SunSirs: The Spot Price of China Thermal Coal Has Slightly Increased, and the Rise in the Thermal Coal Index Is Favorable for Spot Prices

On February 9th, the CCI index of thermal coal rose comprehensively: 5,500 kcal increased by 2 RMB to 700 RMB/ton, 5,000 kcal increased by 3 RMB to 620 RMB/ton, and 4,500 kcal increased by 2 RMB to 532 RMB/ton. The increase is about 0.28% -0.48%, reflecting signs of tight supply or improved demand in the spot market, which is favorable for spot prices.
On February 9th, the CCTD index of 5,500CV, 5,000CV, and 4,500CV for thermal coal increased by 1 RMB/ton, 2 RMB/ton, and 2 RMB/ton, respectively. Although the increase was small, it was comprehensive, indicating an improvement in the supply and demand fundamentals of the spot market. If demand rebounds or supply tightens, it will support spot prices. The rating is+1 (generally positive), as the increase is moderate and has not reached a significant positive level, but the overall trend is positive.
