On December 23, the closing price of MTBE in the overseas market increased: the closing price of MTBE in Asia increased by 4.51 US dollars/ton compared to the previous trading day, and FOB Singapore closed at 622.27-624.27 US dollars/ton. The closing price of the European MTBE market increased by $2.25/ton compared to the previous trading day, and FOB ARA closed at $697.74-698.24/ton. The closing price of the MTBE market in the United States increased by $0.35/ton compared to the previous trading day, and the FOB Gulf offshore price closed at $617.19-617.55/ton (174.27-174.37 cents/gallon).
This indicates that global demand is increasing or supply is tightening, providing strong positive support for MTBE spot prices, and it is expected that short-term spot prices may continue to rise.
