SunSirs: China Imports Zero U.S. Soybeans in September
October 21 2025 11:17:51
Customs data shows China imported no soybeans from the United States in September. This marks the first time since November 2018 that China's monthly imports of U.S. soybeans have fallen to zero.
Against the backdrop of tariffs, this year's soybean harvest season for U.S. farmers has seen no “orders from China.” Meanwhile, as the world's largest soybean importer, China is increasing purchases from South American countries to replace U.S. soybeans.
According to Reuters and other reports, from January to September this year, China imported 63.7 million tons of soybeans from Brazil, a 2.4% increase year-on-year, and 2.9 million tons from Argentina, a 31.8% increase year-on-year. China's soybean imports from South American countries have reached a record high.
As an integrated internet platform providing benchmark prices, on October 21, the benchmark soybean price of SunSirs was 4,252.00 RMB/ton, down 1.02% from the beginning of this month (4,296.00 RMB/ton).
