SunSirs: EU Soybean Imports Decrease by 7.3%, Soybean Meal Remains Unchanged
October 15 2025 14:17:27     SunSirs (Selena)The latest data from the European Commission shows that as of October 12th, the EU's soybean imports for 2025/26 were 3.41 million tons, a decrease of 7.3% compared to the same period last year. The import volume of soybean meal was 5.09 million tons, unchanged from the same period last year.
The year-on-year decrease of 7.3% in EU soybean imports indicates a tightening of the supply side, which may push up spot prices. The decrease in imports reflects global supply tension or a shift in demand, which is favorable for the soybean spot market, but the magnitude is not enough to constitute a significant positive.
The import volume of soybean meal remained unchanged from the previous year, with no increase in demand, and stable supply may suppress prices; Based on futures market data, soybean meal contracts have generally fallen (such as the 2601 contract falling by 24 RMB/ton), indicating a bearish market expectation. However, imports remain neutral, so there is a slight bearish trend.
