SunSirs: The EU-27 Imported Approximately 3.28 Million Tons of Soybeans as of October 5
October 14 2025 09:15:04     SunSirs (Selena)Data from the European Commission indicates that EU oilseed and vegetable oil imports in the 2025/26 marketing year are generally lower than last year, reflecting expected increases in domestic oilseed production and crushing. As of October 5, EU-27 soybean imports in the 2024/25 marketing year (which began on July 1) were approximately 3.28 million tons, down 4% from the same period in the 2024/25 marketing year and down 4% from the week prior.
Soybean meal imports were approximately 4.77 million tons, down 1% year-on-year and up 2% from the week prior.
As for vegetable oils, soybean oil imports were 190,000 tons, up 171% year-on-year and up 173% from the week prior.
Sunflower oil imports were 410,000 tons, down 24% year-on-year and down 21% from the week prior.
Palm oil imports were 690,000 tons, down 27% year-on-year and down 29% from the week prior.
