SunSirs: EU Soybean Imports for the 2024/25 Marketing Year Were Approximately 2.86 Million Tons as of September 21

Data from the European Commission indicates that EU oilseed and vegetable oil imports in the 2025/26 marketing year are generally lower than last year, reflecting expected increases in domestic oilseed production and crushing. As of September 21, soybean imports by the 27 EU countries in the 2024/25 marketing year (which began on July 1) were approximately 2.86 million tons, down 4% from the same period in the 2024/25 marketing year and down 4% from the week prior.
Rapeseed imports were approximately 790,000 tons, down 35% year-on-year and down 42% from the week prior.
Sunflowerseed imports were approximately 60,000 tons, down 41% year-on-year and down 40% from the week prior.
Soybean meal imports were approximately 4.01 million tons, down 4% year-on-year and down 5% from the week prior.
Regarding vegetable oils, soybean oil imports were 190,000 tons, up 189% year-on-year and up 173% from the week prior.
Sunflower oil imports were 360,000 tons, down 21% year-on-year and down 14% from the week prior.
Palm oil imports were 600,000 tons, down 25% year-on-year and down 28% a week earlier.
