SunSirs: China's Steel Billet Volume Increases in August 2025
September 25 2025 14:52:46     Customs data reveals that from January to August 2025, China's total steel billet exports reached 9.2362 million tons, marking a year-on-year increase of 293.24%. Meanwhile, total steel billet imports amounted to 584,200 tons, reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 62.30%.
In August 2025, domestic billet exports totaled 1.7642 million tons, marking a 11.67% increase month-on-month and a 236.03% increase year-on-year. Domestic billet imports in August 2025 totaled 40,200 tons, reflecting a 41.94% increase month-on-month but a 55.56% decrease year-on-year.
As an integrated internet platform providing benchmark prices, on September 25, the benchmark price of steel billets on SunSirs was 3,100.00 RMB/ton, the same as at the beginning of this month.
