SunSirs: EU Rapeseed Imports Down 49% as of August 31, 2025

EU data shows that EU rapeseed imports have fallen 49% so far in the 2025/26 season, with a significant decline in the share of imports from Australia and Ukraine. EU rapeseed imports so far in the 2025/26 season stand at 440,000 tons, a 49% year-on-year decrease.
As of August 31, 2025, Ukraine became the EU's largest rapeseed supplier, with imports reaching 143,000 tons, a 66.9% year-on-year decrease, and its market share fell from 50.1% to 32.4%.
Australia was the second-largest supplier, with imports of 134,000 tons, a 61.8% year-on-year decrease, and its market share fell from 40.8% to 30.5%.
Serbia was the third-largest supplier, with imports of 77,000 tons, a 101.3% year-on-year increase, and its market share increased from 4.4% to 17.5%.
In fiscal year 2024/25, the EU imported 7.447 million tons of rapeseed, a year-on-year increase of 31%. Of this, 3.51 million tons were imported from Australia, an increase of 87.7% year-on-year, and its market share increased from 33.0% to 47.1%. Imports from Ukraine totaled 2.41 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 23.7%, and its market share remained unchanged from 55.6% to 32.4%. Imports from Canada totaled 1.13 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 999%, and its market share also increased significantly from 1.8% to 15.2%.
