According to sources, shortly after Canadian Prime Minister Carney's visit to China last week, a Chinese importer has purchased a shipment of Canadian rapeseed. It is reported that this ship is expected to ship about 60,000 tons of rapeseed after March.
Chinese importers have purchased 60,000 tons of Canadian rapeseed and expect to ship it after March, indicating strong demand that may push up spot rapeseed prices. For rapeseed oil futures, this event enhances the expectation of demand for far month contracts. For example, the OI2605 contract currently closed at 8,948 RMB and has recently risen by 13 RMB, providing additional support and favorable prices.
