SunSirs: China's Pulp Imports Increased Year-on-Year in July 2025
September 01 2025 10:46:09     As of August 28, 2025, China's pulp inventory at major ports reached 2.084 million tons, a decrease of 48,000 tons from the previous period, a 2.3% month-on-month decrease. Inventories are trending downwards this cycle.
According to data from the General Administration of Customs, China's pulp imports in July 2025 were 2.877 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.2%. From January to July, China's pulp imports totaled 21.455 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%.
As an integrated internet platform providing benchmark prices, on September 1, the benchmark price of hardwood pulp at SunSirs was 4,183.33 RMB/ton, a 1.46% increase from 4,123.33 RMB/ton at the beginning of the previous month.
On September 1, the benchmark price of coniferous softwood pulp at SunSirs was 5,733.33 RMB/ton, a 2.82% decrease from 5,900 RMB/ton at the beginning of the previous month.
