SunSirs: China's Steel Billets Import and Export Statistics for July

Data from the General Administration of Customs shows that domestic steel billet exports totaled 1.5798 million tons in July, a month-on-month increase of 34.37% and a year-on-year increase of 349.07%. From January to July, total steel billet exports totaled 7.472 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 309.72%.
Last week, the blast furnace iron-making capacity utilization rate of 247 Chinese steel mills was 90.22%, an increase of 0.13 percentage points from the previous week. The steel mills' profitability was 65.8%, a decrease of 2.60 percentage points from the previous week. The average daily hot metal output was 2.4066 million tons, an increase of 3,400 tons from the previous week.
This week, the inventory of same-caliber steel billets in major warehouses and ports in Tangshan was 1.2344 million tons, a week-on-week decrease of 32,500 tons.
