August 14 2025 13:52:18     SunSirs (Selena)On Tuesday (August 12), the U.S. Department of Agriculture released its August supply and demand and production reports, lowering its soybean production forecast. The USDA projected U.S. soybean production in 2025/26 at 4.292 billion bushels, down 43 million bushels from the previous month, primarily due to a reduction in harvested area to 80.1 million acres. The yield is expected to be 53.6 bushels per acre, nearing a record high.
Ending stocks are projected at 290 million bushels, down 20 million bushels from the previous month. The export forecast was lowered to 1.705 billion bushels, while crush remained unchanged. The average annual farmgate price is $10.10 per bushel. Both U.S. soybean exports and crush are projected to increase by 10 million bushels in 2024/25, reducing ending stocks to 330 million bushels. Global soybean ending stocks for 2025/26 are lowered to 124.9 million tons, down 1.17 million tons from the previous month, primarily due to a supply reduction in the United States. Production forecasts for Brazil and Argentina remain unchanged at 175 million tons and 48.5 million tons, respectively.
