SunSirs: U.S. Corn Production Is Projected to Reach 16.7 Billion Bushels in 2025/26.
August 14 2025 13:49:44     SunSirs (Selena)On Tuesday (August 12), the U.S. Department of Agriculture released its August supply and demand and production reports, significantly raising U.S. corn production forecasts for 2025/26 to 16.7 billion bushels, with a yield of 188.8 bushels per acre, both breaking previous records.
U.S. corn planted acreage was raised to 97.3 million acres, with harvested acreage projected at 88.7 million acres, higher than the July forecast. The significantly higher yield increases total corn supply for 2025/26, with feed and other uses projected to increase by 250 million bushels to 6.1 billion bushels, and corn use for ethanol production increased by 100 million bushels to 5.6 billion bushels. Exports were raised to 2.875 billion bushels. Ending stocks are projected at 2.117 billion bushels, up 457 million bushels from last month and the highest level in nearly seven years. The annual farmgate price for U.S. corn was lowered to $3.90 per bushel. The 2024/25 marketing year's ending stocks of old-crop corn are projected at 1.305 billion bushels, with the annual price remaining unchanged at $4.30. Global corn production is projected at 1.289 billion tons in 2025/26, an increase of 24.92 million tons from the previous month's forecast, with global ending stocks increasing to 282.5 million tons.
