The Commodity Price Index (BPI) on August 4th was 868 points, down 1 point from the previous day, down 35.37% from the cycle high of 1343 points (October 19, 2021), and up 31.52% from the low of 660 points on February 3, 2016.
[Commodity Rising and Falling Daily List]
According to Sino-Foreign Exchange price monitoring, 50 commodities on the August 4, 2025, rising month-over-month were found in the chemical sector (29 in total) and the nonferrous metals sector (6 in total). Commodities with increases of 5% or more were primarily concentrated in the chemical sector. The top three commodities with the highest increases were formic acid (16.10%), aniline (3.97%), and borax decahydrate (3.55%). A total of 80 commodities declined on a month-on-month basis, concentrated in chemicals (37 in total) and steel (10 in total). The top three commodities with the largest declines were Brent crude oil (-3.94%), glass (-3.86%), and eggs (-3.46%).
