SunSirs: China Corrugated Paper Continues to Maintain Stability, Short-term Wait-and-see Adjustment

June 13 2025 09:42:08     SunSirs (Selena)

According to the monitoring of the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of corrugated paper has remained stable this week. On June 12, 2025, the average ex factory price of 140g corrugated paper was 2,650 RMB/ton, which remained stable compared to the average price on June 8.

In terms of upstream raw materials, the price of waste paper in Zhejiang region still showed an upward trend this week, and the price of waste paper in domestic paper mills fluctuated. On June 12, 2025, the average purchase price of A-grade waste yellow board paper in Zhejiang region was 1,544 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.45% compared to the average price on June 12. This week, the prices of waste paper in various regions of China have fluctuated, with most areas experiencing some price increases. Paper mills adjust their prices based on their own needs. As the rainy season approaches in some areas, the shipment of waste paper from packaging stations is more active, resulting in an increase in the arrival of waste paper and a slight decrease in prices. Some paper mills also prepare their waste paper inventory in advance, which leads to an increase instead of a decrease.

On the supply side: This week, the production of paper mills has been running steadily. With the improvement of the export market in the early stage, the inventory of corrugated paper in the paper mills has decreased. However, the recent rise in waste paper prices has provided positive support for corrugated paper prices. But as the recent market orders come to an end, there may be a rebound in market supply, and there is a strong wait-and-see sentiment in the market.

On the demand side: With the gradual stabilization of overseas export volume and the imminent end of e-commerce activities, the demand for corrugated paper market is gradually cooling down, and the market is mostly digesting the previously rising prices. The downstream terminal market mostly purchases on demand and generates a large number of orders, so prices tend to remain stable.

According to the paper analyst of SunSirs, the current corrugated paper market has temporarily stabilized after the impact of increased demand in the early stage. However, as e-commerce activities are coming to an end in China, terminal demand is also light, and it is expected that corrugated paper prices will adjust in the short term.
