SunSirs: India's Palm Oil Imports Increased 14% Month on Month in March 2025

The monthly data released by the Indian Refining Association (SEA) on Friday (April 11) showed that palm oil imports increased for the second consecutive month in March, although still below normal levels in previous years.
The import volume of vegetable oil in India in March was 998,344 tons, higher than 899,565 tons in February, but a decrease of 16% compared to 1,182,152 tons in March 2024. The import volume of edible oil in March was 970602 tons, higher than the 885,561 tons in February and lower than the 1,149,681 tons in March last year.
The import volume of palm oil in March was 424,599 tons, an increase of 13.7% compared to 373,549 tons in February. As a reference, in 2023/24, India imports an average of 750,000 tons of palm oil per month.
