SunSirs: China Refined Petroleum Coke Continues to Rise in Late January 2025
February 05 2025 09:40:58     SunSirs (Selena)According to the commodity analysis system of SunSirs, the market for locally refined petroleum coke continued to rise in late January. As of January 31, the price of locally refined petroleum coke in the Shandong market was 1,877.50 RMB/ton, an increase of 5.48% from 1,780.00 RMB/ton on January 21.
Before the holiday, the shipment of petroleum coke was good and transactions were active. Some coking units had plans to shut down or reduce production, resulting in a decrease in the supply of petroleum coke. Downstream enterprises stocked up before the holiday, and the price of petroleum coke continued to rise. Imported low sulfur sponge coke resources are relatively scarce, and traders have a reluctance to sell. During the Spring Festival, the price of petroleum coke in refineries remained stable and rose. It is expected that downstream demand for petroleum coke will increase after the holiday, and the price may rise slightly.
