SunSirs: Safras Raises Brazil's Cotton Production for 2024/25 to 3.66 Million Tons
September 04 2024 10:06:31     SunSirs (John)Consulting firm Safras&Mercado has released a report revising Brazil's cotton production for 2024/25 to 3.66 million tons, reflecting a slight increase in planting area and improved yield prospects.
The cotton production in Brazil for 2024/25, which has been adjusted upwards, has increased by nearly 13% compared to the previous year's 3.25 million tons.
Safras has increased the cotton planting area in Brazil from 1.97 million hectares to 1.99 million hectares, an increase of nearly 19% from the previous year's 1.68 million hectares. Both Bahia and Mato Grosso states have increased their cotton planting areas.
Although the planting area has increased, the yield of 2023/24 harvest is relatively low due to the lack of rainfall in the early stages of crop growth.
