According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of February 29th, the price of DOP was 11,780 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.25% from the price of 11,810 RMB/ton on February 16th; Compared to the price of 11,780 RMB/ton on February 1st, the price had stabilized; On March 5th, the price of DOP was 11,720 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.76% compared to February 16th and 0.51% compared to February 1st. The prices of raw materials such as 2-EH and PA were weakly consolidating, and the cost support for plasticizer DOP was insufficient; After the holiday, plasticizer enterprises resumed production, and the supply of plasticizer DOP increased; Downstream demand recovery was slow, and the price of plasticizer DOP was weakly consolidating.

2-EH prices were weakly consolidating

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of February 29th, the quotation for 2-EH was 12,437.50 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.71% compared to the quotation of 12,350 RMB/ton on February 16th; Compared to the price of 12,375 RMB/ton on February 1st, the price hadincreased by 0.51%; On March 5th, the price of 2-EH was 12,337.50 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.80% from February 29th and 0.30% from February 1st. During the Spring Festival, the production of 2-EH was at a low level, but after the holiday, it slowly recovered. The supply of 2-EH increased, but the demand for 2-EH did not recover well. In February, the price of 2-EH weakened and stabilized, while after the holiday, the raw material propylene fluctuated and rose, increasing cost support. In March, the price of 2-EH fluctuated and stabilized.

Downstream PVC prices fluctuated and rose

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of March 5th, the PVC quotation was 5,629 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.59% compared to the PVC quotation of 5,596 RMB/ton on February 29th; Compared to the price of 5,566 RMB/ton on February 17th, the price of PVC increased by 1.13%; Compared to the price of 5574 RMB/ton on February 1st, the price increased by 0.99%. Before the holiday, PVC demand was weak, PVC prices fluctuated and fell, downstream procurement was on demand, downstream manufacturers began to work after the holiday, PVC prices fluctuated and rose after the holiday, and demand for plasticizers slowly rebounded.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ plasticizer product data analysts believe that the price of raw material 2-EH was weak and consolidating, and the cost support for plasticizer DOP was insufficient; After the holiday, the PVC market rebounded slowly, and the demand for plasticizers rebounded slowly, with poor support from the rise of plasticizers. In the future, the cost support for plasticizers is insufficient, and downstream demand is slowly recovering. It is expected that DOP prices will fluctuate and consolidate in the future.
