Japan is the fourth largest importer of crude oil in the world. Preliminary data shows that the country imported 2.39 million barrels per day (11.81 million kiloliters) of crude oil in January.
The import volume of liquefied natural gas in January was 6.109 million tons, a decrease of 10.5% compared to the same period last year; The import of coal decreased by 6.8% to 9.95 million tons.
