SunSirs: ICAC4 Monthly Report: Global Cotton Consumption Increased by 645,000 Tons from the Previous Month
April 06 2023 09:57:03     According to the April global production and demand forecast released by the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), global cotton supply will continue to exceed demand in 2022/23, but the supply surplus will decrease month-on-month, and ending stocks will decrease month-on-month. ICAC predicts that the 2022/23 Kotruk A index will be between 99.80-122.12 cents, with the median being 103.71 cents. Specifically, the global cotton initial inventory in 2022/23 is 19.425 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 12,200 tons; global cotton production is 24.55 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 227,000 tons; global cotton consumption is 23.8 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 645,000 tons ; production exceeded consumption by 750,000 tons, a decrease of 500,000 tons from the previous month; global cotton exports were 8.98 million tons, an increase of 360,000 tons from the previous month; global cotton ending stocks were 202,000 tons, a decrease of 430,000 tons from the previous month.
