SunSirs: In 2024/25, Brazil's Cotton Exports Accounted for 30.5% of the Global
May 09 2025 13:50:52     According to a report by the Brazilian research institution CEPEA, Brazil's cotton production accounted for 14% of the world's total in 2024/25, and its export volume accounted for 30.5% of the world's total, surpassing the United States' 25.8% and becoming the world's largest cotton exporting country.
According to statistics from the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Economy, Brazil exported a total of 2.35 million tons of cotton from August 2024 to April 2025, a year-on-year decrease of 12%. In the first 17 days of April 2025, Brazil exported 210100 tons of cotton, a decrease of 12.1% compared to the same period last month and a decrease of 13% compared to the same period last year. However, it is still the second highest level in history for the same period, second only to 241400 tons in the same period of April 2024. At present, Brazil exports 123600 tons of cotton per day, and the total export volume in April is expected to reach 247000 tons.
