According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the price of waste paper in Zhejiang Province rose first and then fell this week. On February 17, the average purchase price of Grade A waste yellow paperboard in Zhejiang was 1,750 RMB/ton, up 1.04% from the average price of 1,732 RMB/ton on February 12. The price of corrugated paper declined slightly. The average ex-factory price of 140g corrugated base paper on February 17 was 3,166 RMB/ton, down 0.19% from the average price of 3,172 RMB/ton on February 12.

Analysis review

From the observation of market changes, the price of domestic waste paper rose this week, followed by a slight correction in the price of waste paper in Zhejiang, but the overall trend was still rising. After the Spring Festival, the paper mill had entered the state of operation and the market had gradually improved. The recycling attitude of the paper mill was relatively positive compared with that in the early stage, which made the recycling price of the waste yellow paper steadily increase. However, there were also a few enterprises that lowered prices again according to their own inventory requirements.

In terms of the price of corrugated base paper, the price of corrugated base paper continued to fall slightly this week. With the gradual recovery of the downstream market, the price trend of corrugated paper will continue to be affected by the industry supply and demand pattern and the upstream cost price changes. However, from the current market point of view, the negative factors still dominate, which made the price of corrugated paper fall under pressure.

Market outlook

According to the paper analysts of SunSirs, as of the 17th, the prices of waste paper and corrugated paper were stable and small changes, but the prices were at a low level, and the demand of the end market was not good for the time being. It is expected that the price of waste paper and corrugated paper will remain low and volatile in the short term.
