2. Power production situation
The power production of industrial enterprises above designated size increased steadily. In August, the power generation of industrial enterprises above designated size was 93.63 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%; the daily power generation exceeded 30 billion kilowatt-hours for the first time, reaching 302.0 billion kilowatt-hours. From January to August, the power generation of industrial enterprises above designated size was 641.93 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 1.5%. Excluding the reasons of the number of days, the daily power generation increased by 1.9% year-on-year.
Looking at the types of industries, in August, the growth rate of wind power in the above-scale industrial sector accelerated, the decline in hydropower expanded, and the growth rates of thermal power, nuclear power, and solar power generation slowed down. Among them, the year-on-year growth rate of thermal power in the above-scale industrial sector was 1.7%, a slowdown of 2.6 percentage points from July; the year-on-year decline in hydropower was 10.1%, an expansion of 0.3 percentage points from July; the year-on-year growth rate of nuclear power was 5.9%, a slowdown of 2.4 percentage points from July; the year-on-year growth rate of wind power was 20.2%, an acceleration of 14.7 percentage points from July; and the year-on-year growth rate of solar power generation was 15.9%, a slowdown of 12.8 percentage points from July.
