On January 5th, PL001-H32 well of the Deng'er Gas Reservoir in the Penglai Gas Field of China National Petroleum Corporation's Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company achieved a daily production of 1.1 million cubic meters and a non-blocking flow rate of over 1.8 million cubic meters, marking the company's first million-level gas well in 2026. This signifies the successful start of its conventional gas capacity construction in 2026.
As the second largest natural gas production and supply enterprise in the country and the largest in the southwest region, Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company has been deeply cultivating the Sichuan Basin for nearly 70 years. At present, the company's natural gas users are spread all over the Chuan-Yu region, with more than 1,000 large and medium-sized industrial users, more than 10,000 public utility users, and more than 25 million residential users. The industries using gas include urban gas, gas power generation, CNG, fertilizers, chemicals, and more than 10 other industries, with a market share of more than 75% in the Chuan-Yu region.
The Leng-2 section of the Peng Lai gas field, which has achieved a breakthrough, is a structural bottom water gas reservoir, and is a key development and production area for Sichuan Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company. The development of the gas reservoir faces two major challenges: increasing production and controlling water.
The company focused on the efficient development of the bottom water reservoir, and on the basis of systematically sorting out and summarizing the achievements of the reservoir's pilot production, it formed the main technology of the water-free development of the storage and isolation superimposed bottom water reservoir, established the effective well target selection technology of the high-frequency migration type karst reservoir, and formed three types of effective well deployment models, etc., which efficiently supported the preparation, well position deployment and implementation of the two-phase development scheme; At the same time, through the multi-disciplinary collaborative operation of "geology-seismology-engineering", it successfully solved the technical issues such as the difficulty of precise aiming in the vicinity of the cliff, the difficulty of fine tracking of high-quality thin reservoirs, and the difficulty of precise construction of water avoidance transformation, with the storage reservoir drilling encounter rate of the pilot well reaching more than 90%, and the average daily production of the well during the test period reaching 1.05 million cubic meters; With 67% of the development well workload, the comprehensive capacity building of the first phase scheme was successfully achieved.
