JAKARTA, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's Central Statistics Agency's latest data shows that in the first 11 months of 2025, the country's exports of crude palm oil and its derivatives totaled 20.85 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.32 percent; the export value reached 21.63 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of about 19 percent.
Looking at the monthly data, Indonesia's palm oil exports dropped to 13.6 million tons in November 2025, down 28.86% year-on-year, due to factors such as increased domestic biodiesel demand and a weaker international market price. The Indonesian government had previously announced plans to officially implement the B50 biodiesel blending program in the second half of 2026.
In terms of price, in November 2025, the palm oil price in Malaysia, as an important price reference for the global palm oil market, was about US$970.36 per ton, down about 6.52% month-on-month and about 16.96% year-on-year.
The Central Statistics Bureau of Indonesia pointed out that during the same period, Indonesia achieved a trade surplus of $38.54 billion, maintaining a trade surplus for 67 consecutive months. Among them, the export performance of animal and vegetable fats and oils products was particularly outstanding, becoming one of the important factors supporting the trade surplus.
