According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China's raw coal production at enterprises above designated size remained at a relatively high level in October, while crude oil and natural gas production grew steadily and electricity generation saw a notable acceleration in growth.

In October, China's raw coal output at enterprises above designated size reached 410 million tons, down 2.3% year-on-year, marking the fourth consecutive month of year-on-year decline. From January to October, industrial raw coal output from enterprises above designated size reached 3.97 billion tons, up 1.5% year-on-year, with the growth rate continuing to narrow.
Separately, data released by the General Administration of Customs on November 7 showed China imported 41.737 million tons of coal in October 2025, down 4.511 million tons or 9.75% from 46.248 million tons in the same period last year. Compared with September's imports of 46.003 million tons, October imports decreased by 4.266 million tons, a drop of 9.27%. From January to October 2025, China imported a total of 387.623 million tons of coal, down 11% year-on-year.
