On October 23, the 2025 (27th) China International Mining Conference opened in Tianjin with the theme "Interconnection and Co-construction".

Deputy Director of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Director of the China Geological Survey Xu Dachun, Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources and Petroleum of South Africa Pumczilwa Mgijima, Deputy Minister of Mining of Chile Soledad Chawand, and Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China Farhod Alzhij耶v, among others, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches, with the chairman of the China Mining Association, Cheng Liewei, presiding over the event.

The conference pointed out that the current world is experiencing a century of rapid changes, the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation are developing rapidly, the pace of energy transformation is accelerating, the demand for mineral resources in emerging industries is growing rapidly, and the global mining industry is at a critical period of accelerated transformation. Xu Dachun, on behalf of the Ministry of Natural Resources of China, proposed three initiatives: First, to build an innovative ecosystem and provide new momentum for the development of the mining industry. Promote the effective coordination of mining development and ecological protection, further promote the application of emerging technologies, accelerate digital transformation, and achieve efficient, intelligent, and sustainable development of the mining industry. Second, to share the fruits of development and provide new models for the development of the mining industry. Encourage mining enterprises to actively fulfill their social responsibilities, extend the processing industry chain of mineral products, create more employment opportunities, and strengthen ecological restoration and management. Third, to create an open pattern and provide new opportunities for the development of the mining industry. Promote the docking and mutual recognition of mining policies, industry standards, technical specifications, etc., continuously improve the level of infrastructure interconnectivity, carry out more practical cooperation projects, and promote mutual benefit, win-win cooperation and common prosperity.

The conference, organized by the China Mining Association, was held from October 23 to 25. The exhibition scale of this conference has set a new record since its inception, with more than 40 forums and promotion activities. The heads of the mining authorities of 24 countries, including Saudi Arabia, and the envoys of China attended the opening ceremony, and nearly 10,000 professionals from more than 500 enterprises in 42 countries participated in the conference and exhibition.
