BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Emergency Management and other seven departments jointly issued the "Work Program for Stabilizing Growth in the Petrochemical Industry (2025-2026)" on Monday. The plan aims to achieve an average annual growth rate of more than 5 percent in the added value of the petrochemical industry from 2025 to 2026.
The plan also proposes a series of key goals for the stable growth of the petrochemical and chemical industry from 2025 to 2026: economic benefits are expected to stabilize and recover, the industry's scientific and technological innovation capabilities are significantly enhanced, the level of fine extension, digital empowerment and intrinsic safety continues to improve, the synergistic effect of pollution reduction and carbon reduction is obvious, and chemical parks are expected to transition from standardized construction to high-quality development.
The plan puts forward ten key measures around five aspects, including enhancing the capacity of effective supply, promoting transformation and upgrading, stimulating market potential, fostering high-quality growth drivers, and improving the level of international development.
It is proposed to enhance the supply of high-end products, support key products in the fields of electronic chemicals and high-end polyolefins, and promote the quality improvement and upgrading of bulk products such as coatings that have a comparative advantage; to promote the quality improvement of supply and demand, actively expand the application of new energy battery materials, carbon fiber and its composites, special engineering plastics and other bulk products around emerging industries such as new energy, low-altitude economy and humanoid robots.
It is worth noting that the plan proposes to create high-quality chemical industrial parks and industrial clusters, organize the evaluation of the competitiveness and intelligent level of chemical industrial parks, guide chemical industrial parks to benchmark and transform, improve the level, and promote chemical industrial parks to focus on the main industries to strengthen, supplement and extend the industrial chain, and cultivate a number of advanced manufacturing industry clusters, small and medium-sized enterprises characteristic industrial clusters and leading enterprises.
It is understood that the next step is that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with relevant departments, will strengthen the publicity and interpretation of policies, organize relevant regions and enterprises to implement them well, promote the stable operation of the industry, and accelerate the optimization and upgrading of the structure.
