The isobutanol market continued its downward trend this week, mainly influenced by:

Cost side: According to the Commodity Analysis System of SunSirs, the reference price of isobutyraldehyde on April 5th was 7,400.00 RMB/ton, a decrease of 2.2% compared to April 1st (7,566.67 RMB/ton). Since April, the prices of upstream isobutyraldehyde had mainly fallen, while the prices of upstream propylene had slightly declined, and the cost support in the isobutyl alcohol market had weakened.

Related product n-butanol: According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, on April 5th, the reference price of n-butanol (industrial grade) was 7,866.67 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.05% compared to April 1st (7,950.00 RMB/ton), providing moderate support for the isobutanol market.

Supply and demand side: In recent times, there had been an increase in market supply, and downstream inquiries and procurement intentions were generally average. Small orders on demand often followed up, and market transactions were average. Holders were actively shipping.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ isobutanol analysts believe that short-term cost support may still be limited, and supply and demand support may be weaker. It is expected that the isobutanol market will remain weak and stable in the short term, and more attention should be paid to market news guidance.
