Price trend
Since March, the domestic market price of butyraldehyde had been continuously declining. As of March 27th, the reference price of butyraldehyde was 8,125 RMB/ton, a decrease of 325 RMB/ton from February 27th, a decrease of 3.8%.
Analysis review
As of March 27th, the reference price for propylene was 6,698 RMB/ton, a decrease of 197 RMB/ton from February 27th, with a decrease of 2.86%. The high inventory levels of propylene manufacturers had put pressure on the propylene market, leading to a significant reduction in their quotations and weakened support for the price of n-butanal.
In terms of downstream n-butanol, as of March 27th, the reference price of n-butanol was 7,751 RMB/ton, a decrease of 882 RMB/ton from February 27th, with a decrease of 10.22%. Since the return of n-butanol and its downstream, production had gradually resumed and had remained relatively high and stable recently. However, due to the significant decline in downstream production during the Chinese New Year in February, while n-butanol production had remained high, the market supply and demand gap had remained relatively high.
Market outlook
SunSirs' butyraldehyde data analyst believes that based on the situation, downstream users of butyraldehyde were in the stage of destocking, and it is expected that the market will fluctuate to be weaker in the future.
