SunSirs: Cement Prices in East China Fluctuate and Consolidate
January 11 2024 14:32:31SunSirs(Selena)

According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, cement in East China has been fluctuating and consolidating recently, with a price of 336.00 RMB/ton this week, a month on month decrease of 0.30%, and a current price drop of 12.73% year-on-year.

Recently, the cement market in some parts of East China has been fluctuating and consolidating. From the above chart, it can be seen that the cement market has mainly fluctuated slightly in the past three months, and prices have continued to consolidate this week. Recently, the intensity of peak shifting in some provinces has been increasing, but their market has not improved as a result. Cement demand remains low, inventory digestion is poor, and the rise is weak. The cement market in East China is mainly consolidating.

Recently, the overall price of thermal coal has declined. In terms of origin, the prices of coal mines have been stable recently. In terms of downstream ports, prices slightly decreased at the end of the month. Power plants tend to adopt a wait-and-see attitude and purchase according to demand. Overall, it is expected that the price of thermal coal will be mainly adjusted based on downstream market demand.

From January to November, the national real estate development investment was 10,404.5 billion RMB, a year-on-year decrease of 9.4%; Among them, residential investment was 7,885.2 billion RMB, a decrease of 9.0%. From January to November, the sales area of commercial housing was 1,005.09 million square meters, a year-on-year decrease of 8.0%, with residential sales area decreasing by 7.3%. Downstream funding issues are still ongoing, and demand recovery is poor. Specifically, the marginal investment in real estate has weakened again, and it is still bottoming out in the short term, with weak support for the cement market.

According to the forecast of SunSirs, the holiday is not far away, and some construction sites are starting to rush. However, the contradiction between cement supply and demand is becoming increasingly prominent, and the rise is weak. Therefore, cement product analysts from SunSirs believe that in the short term, the cement market will mainly experience a slight decline.
