SunSirs: Cement Prices in East China have slightly Declined
December 21 2023 10:19:16SunSirs(Selena)

According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, cement in East China has recently experienced a weak decline. The price of cement on the 14th was 346.00 RMB/ton, while the price on the 23rd was 344.00 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.58% and a month on month increase of 6.50%. The current price has dropped by 13.78% year-on-year.

Recently, cement prices have declined in some areas of East China. The cement market has fluctuated slightly in the past three months, with prices falling last week. At present, the domestic cement inventory is high, and the construction progress of downstream construction sites and mixing plants is average. Demand continues to decline, and the cement shipment situation is poor, leading to a continued decline in the market.

Last week, coal prices rose. Mainly due to the cooling down, market sentiment has warmed up. The daily consumption of power plants has increased, but some traders believe that downstream demand is limited and price increases lack favorable support. The market is mainly cautious in its operations.

From January to November, the national real estate development investment was 10,404.5 billion RMB, a year-on-year decrease of 9.4%; Among them, residential investment was 7,885.2 billion RMB, a decrease of 9.0%. From January to November, the sales area of commercial housing was 1,005.09 million square meters, a year-on-year decrease of 8.0%, with residential sales area decreasing by 7.3%. Downstream funding issues are still ongoing, and demand recovery is poor. Specifically, the marginal investment in real estate has weakened again, and it is still bottoming out in the short term, with weak support for the cement market.

According to the forecast of SunSirs, frequent rainy and snowy weather makes it difficult for cement demand to improve, and the cement market lacks support. Therefore, cement product analysts from SunSirs believe that in the short term, the cement market will mainly experience a slight decline.
