October 26 2023 13:48:15SunSirs(John)

Price trend

On the 24th, Sinopec North China phenol prices were increased by 100 RMB/ton, with an execution of 8,400 RMB/ton, and Sinopec East China phenol prices were quoted at 8,300 RMB/ton. Major domestic mainstream markets were closely following the upward trend, with the phenol market in East China referencing 8,350-8,450 RMB/ton.

Analysis review

Several major domestic factories adjusted their listing prices, which was beneficial for the domestic phenol market and driving up mainstream transactions. The factory price adjustment was as follows:

On October 24th, the phenol price of Yanshan Petrochemical increased by 100 RMB per ton to 8,400 RMB/ton, and the 300,000 ton/year phenol ketone plant of Yanshan Petrochemical was operating normally.

On October 24th, Zhongsha Tianjin Petrochemical increased the phenol price by 100 RMB per ton, implementing 8,400 RMB per ton. The 350000 ton/year phenol ketone plant entered normal operation, and the manufacturer shipped as planned.

On October 24th, Lihua Yiwei Yuan Chemical Co., Ltd. increased the factory price of phenol products by 100 RMB to 8,400 RMB/ton.

The domestic bisphenol A market was on the rise, and due to the upward trend in the upstream phenol market, the theoretical production cost of bisphenol A was under pressure and the quotation had been raised. The market offer was between 10,200 and 10,300 RMB/ton, with limited trading volume and slightly higher sporadic orders.

Market outlook

From the perspective of SunSirs, the domestic phenol market was cautiously priced, and the upstream and downstream trading conditions of the industrial chain were poor. It is expected that the phenol market price reference will be 8,400-8,500 RMB/ton.
