August 05 2022 10:30:03     SunSirs (Selena)
According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the spot prices of softwood pulp and hardwood pulp rose this week. On August 4, the average market price of coniferous wood pulp in Shandong was 7,280 RMB/ ton, an increase of 1.82% compared with the average price at the beginning of the week (the average market price of coniferous wood pulp on July 31 was 7,150 RMB/ ton). On August 4, the average market price of hardwood pulp in Shandong was 6,726 RMB/ ton, an increase of 0.99% compared with the average price at the beginning of the week (the average market price of hardwood pulp on July 31 was 6,660 RMB/ ton).
According to the observation of market changes, the price of wood pulp still showed an upward trend this week, while the price of pulp futures was mixed. At present, there is no major change in the supply and demand of pulp, the spot supply is still tight, the external quotation remains strong, and the domestic spot quotation of wood pulp has increased. However, the current trading volume in the downstream market is limited. Under the pressure of profits, paper enterprises have low enthusiasm to stock up, and multidimensional holdings need to be replenished.
In terms of futures, on August 4, the opening price of SP2209 pulp futures contract of the previous stock exchange was 7,194 RMB/ ton, and the latest price was 7,072 RMB/ ton, with 230,600 transactions and 120,054 positions. The opening price of SP2210 contract was 7,008 RMB/ ton, the latest price was 6,874 RMB/ ton, with 52,200 transactions and 50,901 positions.
SunSirs wood pulp analysts believe that the current pulp futures price has fallen, and the supply and demand game in the pulp market continues. However, the supply in the spot market is still tight recently, which has supported the spot price of wood pulp to a certain extent. It is expected that the spot price of wood pulp in the short term may remain high and volatile in China.
