According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the price of dry ammonium chloride for agriculture was 637.50 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month and 620.00 RMB/ton at the end of the month, an overall decrease of 2.75%.

Analysis review   

After entering the off-season for agricultural demand, the demand for ammonium chloride fell and the price fell. Since September, the start of downstream compound fertilizer companies has dropped to around 50%, demand has weakened, downstream stocking has not been active, and overall procurement has been weaker. In the middle of the month, traders were more bearish on ammonium chloride and offered lower offers for sales. With the arrival of demand for autumn fertilizer in the second half of the month, the demand for ammonium chloride increased, and some companies' offers tentatively increased slightly.

The start of Hou's production has increased and the output of ammonium chloride has increased, and the pressure on the supply side remains high. According to SunSirs, the operating rate of domestic Hou Soda enterprises rose to 75% in the first half of September, and the output of ammonium chloride increased during the month. It is understood that the daily output of ammonium chloride increased to about 39,000 tons in September, an increase of more than 5%. In the first half of the month, the ex-factory price of ammonium chloride was slightly lowered by 20-30 RMB/ton, and at the end of the month, the ex-factory price of some enterprises rose slightly around 10-20 RMB/ton. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, on September 30, 2020, the 600,000 tons of ammonium chloride plant in Kunshan of China National Salt Industry Co., Ltd. was in normal production. The price of ammonium chloride used by the manufacturer for agriculture was stable. The ex-factory price of dry ammonium chloride was 610 RMB/ton, and the ex-factory report of wet ammonium chloride was 540 RMB/ton. Jiangsu Zhonghai Winbond’s premium agricultural ammonium chloride prices are stable, with dry ammonium chloride priced at 630 RMB/ton and wet ammonium chloride at 530 RMB/ton.

Market outlook

The ammonium chloride analyst of SunSirs believes that on the one hand, the pressure on the supply of ammonium chloride in the later stage is still under pressure, on the other hand, the demand for autumn fertilizer will be driven to a certain extent. The ammonium chloride market may rise tentatively in the later period.
