According to the data of SunSirs’ list, domestic sodium metabisulfite prices continued to fall at the bottom this week. The average price of industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite at the beginning of the week was 1,526.67 RMB/ton, and the average price at the weekend was 1,338.33 RMB/ton, down 9.39%.
Analysis review
The overall market of sodium metabisulfite market was still weak this week. The market price range of industrial grade sodium metabisulfite was 1,200-1,500 RMB/ton, and most prices were concentrated around 1,400 RMB/ton. Downstream demand continued to weaken, causing domestic stocks of sodium metabisulfite to be backlogged. Procurement of downstream trade entities was cautious. Enterprises mainly completed orders from old customers. New orders were limited to increase. The market transaction atmosphere was general and fast-in and fast-out. After entering July, some manufacturers lowered the ex-factory price again, and the domestic sodium metabisulfite market price fell again at a low level.
This week, domestic sulfur and soda ash prices remained stable overall, raw material costs were relatively stable, downstream demand continued to weaken, and sodium metabisulfite prices recovered under pressure.
Market outlook
SunSirs analysts believe that the problem of strong market supply and demand is difficult to alleviate in the short term, and the market price of sodium metabisulfite is picking up in the short term.
