SunSirs: The Transaction Was Average, and the N-butanol Market Was Cold and Down (September 2-6)

September 07 2022 09:39:41     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, as of September 6, the average ex-factory price of domestic n-butanol was 6,933 RMB/ton. Compared with September 2 (the average reference price of n-butanol was 7,000 RMB/ton), the average price was reduced by 67 RMB/ton, down 0.95%.

Analysis review

It can be seen from the data monitoring chart of SunSirs that in August, the domestic n-butanol market in Shandong was on the decline as a whole. Near the end of August, the trading atmosphere in the n-butanol market improved, and the factory quotations increased steadily. Entering September, on the 1st and 2nd day of the month, the focus of the n-butanol market in Shandong continued to rise slightly, with an increase of around 100 RMB/ton. However, the overall transaction in the market was normal, and the n-butanol market in Shandong continued to consolidate after the rise. On September 6, affected by the loosening of downstream demand support and the weak trading volume, some n-butanol factories in Shandong lowered the price of n-butanol by 200 RMB/ton. As of September 6, the ex-factory price of n-butanol in Shandong was around 6,800-7,000 RMB/ton. The trading atmosphere in the n-butanol market was general, the downstream demand was released on demand, and the supply side was mostly stable.

In terms of upstream propylene, from September 1st to 5th, the domestic propylene market in Shandong showed a downward trend as a whole. According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, on September 5, the reference price of propylene was 7,080.60 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.28% compared with September 1 (7,100.60 RMB/ton).

Market outlook

At present, the construction of the n-butanol downstream factories is in general, and the support given by the demand side is average. However, as the Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, the downstream demand may increase. Therefore, the data engineer of n-butanol of SunSirs believes that the probability of n-butanol market falling sharply in the short term is small, and most of them will be stable with small fluctuations, and the range adjustment will be the main operation. The specific trend also needs to pay attention to the news changes on the supply and demand side.
