SunSirs: On September 5, the Domestic Rare Earth Market Price Index Fell Sharply

On September 5, the rare earth index was 578 points, down 21 points from previous day, down 42.60% from the highest point in the cycle (1,007 points on 2022-02-24), and up 113.28% points from the lowest point of 271 points on September 13, 2015. (Note: The cycle refers to 2011-12-01 to the present)

Analysis review

The domestic rare earth index fell sharply, and the domestic light rare earth praseodymium and neodymium prices fell. The price of metal praseodymium neodymium fell by 15,000 RMB/ton to 720,000 RMB/ton, the price of praseodymium and neodymium oxide fell by 17,500 RMB/ton to 582,500 RMB/ton, and the price of neodymium oxide fell by 30,000 RMB/ton to 615,000 RMB/ton, the price of neodymium metal fell by 40,000 RMB/ton to 795,000 RMB/ton, the price of praseodymium metal fell by 40,000 RMB/ton to 885,000 RMB/ton, the price of praseodymium oxide fell by 30,000 RMB/ton to 625,000 RMB/ton, the price of terbium oxide fell by 25,000 RMB/ton to 12.825 million RMB/ton, the price of metal terbium fell by 200,000 RMB/ton to 16.3 million RMB/ton, the price of dysprosium oxide was 2.165 million RMB/ton, the price of dysprosium metal is 2.845 million RMB/ton, and the price of dysprosium ferroalloy has dropped by 5,000 RMB/ton to 2.15 million RMB/ton.

The domestic light rare earth market prices declined, traders were generally active, and metal factories were cautious and followed up just on demand. In the domestic heavy rare earth market, the price of dysprosium series declined, and the price of terbium series fell slightly. The downstream purchases were mainly on-demand, and Myanmar banned exports.

Market outlook

It is expected that the domestic rare earth market may continue to decline in the later period.
