According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, the average price of EPS common materials at the beginning of this week was 11,500 RMB/ton, and the average price of EPS common materials at the weekend was 11,450 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.43% and a year-on-year increase of 6.02%.
Analysis review
Styrene rose sharply, boosting the market atmosphere. However, the rhythm of merchants' shipments was slow, and some merchants maintained profit-cutting operations. The overall EPS transaction was good, but the impact of some epidemics on supply and demand was obvious. Focus on the transaction situation in the downstream market, and most of the goods sold in the market were based on orders.
The downstream demand for EPS picked up, and the production situation of domestic downstream factories was acceptable. It was difficult for the supply and demand side to provide effective support for styrene. Domestic styrene prices showed a shocking trend of callback after rising. During the week, the high-end spot transaction in Jiangsu area was around 12,700 RMB/ton.
Market outlook
The upward momentum of styrene may be insufficient, and the downstream demand is relatively weak. It is expected that the EPS market may fluctuate weakly in the short term.
