SunSirs: Ammonium Chloride Market Rose (February 7-11)

February 15 2022 14:18:18     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, after the holiday (2.7-2.11), the ammonium chloride market rose sharply. As of February 11, the price was 1,195 RMB/ton, an increase of 11.16% from the price of 1,075 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week.

Analysis review

The operating rate of combined alkali after the festival was slightly lower than that before the festival. The overall operating rate of the industry was around 70%, and some areas even dropped to 60%. The supply side was tighter than before the festival. However, it will take time for downstream compound fertilizer enterprises to start construction after the holiday, and the support for ammonium chloride is weak. Due to the sufficient orders to be issued by the company and the expected increase in the volume of downstream goods received, the ex-factory prices of some companies have been raised.

After the holiday, the raw material liquid ammonia rose slightly, and the cost changed little. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of February 11, the domestic liquid ammonia price was 4,503 RMB/ton, a slight increase of 0.37% from the price of 4,486 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week.

After the holiday, the price of urea rose slightly, forming support for ammonium chloride. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of February 11, the domestic price of urea was 2,700 RMB/ton, up 1.66% from the price of 2,656 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week.

Market outlook

The ammonium chloride analyst of SunSirs believes that the pressure on the supply side is not large, and the cost and urea price still have support for ammonium chloride. In addition, the downstream demand is expected to be strong after the festival, it is expected that the ammonium chloride market will continue to rise in the later period.
