On January 7th, the commodity price index BPI was 918 points, up 10 points from yesterday, down 31.65% from the highest point of 1,343 points during the cycle (2021-10-19), and up 39.09% from the lowest point of 660 points on February 3rd, 2016.
According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, on January 7, 2026, there were a total of 78 commodities that showed a year-on-year increase in commodity prices, mainly concentrated in the chemical sector (24 in total) and non-ferrous sector (16 in total). The top three commodities with the highest increase were dysprosium ferroalloy (4.85%), nickel (4.83%), and dysprosium oxide (4.78%). There were a total of 35 commodities that experienced a month on month decline, mainly in the chemical industry (15 in total) and energy (6 in total). The top three commodities with the highest decline were WTI crude oil (-2.04%), dimethylethanolamine (-1.79%), and Brent crude oil (-1.72%).
