SunSirs: Venezuela's Oil Production and Exports Decline in December

December 31 2025 13:54:20     SunSirs (Selena)

Venezuela's crude oil production and exports declined in December due to increased U.S. sanctions on tanker shipments.

According to preliminary data from Venezuela's Ministry of Hydrocarbons, average oil production in December so far is 963,000 barrels per day, a decrease of 158,000 barrels per day compared to November.

An official said, "The decline in production in December is partly due to ongoing malfunctions in automated systems and uncertainty caused by the U.S. presence in the Caribbean."

The official added, "We have preliminary estimates for production, but we don't yet have detailed data for joint venture oil fields.

According to industry sources, production in Venezuela's main oil-producing region, the Orinoco Belt, fell from 630,000 barrels per day in November to 540,000 barrels per day in December.

Production in the western Zulia and Trujillo regions decreased from 326,000 barrels per day in November to 280,000 barrels per day in December.

The source said that production in the Monagas state oil fields fell from 140,000 barrels per day in November to 120,000 barrels per day.
