According to data from the SunSirs' commodity market analysis system, the average market price of sodium bicarbonate was 1,220 RMB/ton, a decrease of 22.88% compared to the same period last year.

On October 29th, the SunSirs' sodium bicarbonate index was 80.97 points, unchanged from the previous day, hitting a new historical low within the cycle, a decrease of 65.67% from the highest point of 235.84 on November 10th, 2021. (Note: The cycle refers to the period from September 1st, 2020 to the present.)

Analysis review

According to the SunSirs commodity analysis system, sodium bicarbonate prices were trending weakly, with enterprises experiencing moderate sales. In Henan province, ex-factory prices were between 1,080-1,200 RMB/ton, while in Shandong province, prices were between 1,200-1,300 RMB/ton. Downstream buyers were mostly purchasing on an as-needed basis, and the market is expected to remain range-bound in the near future.

Upstream: According to the SunSirs commodity analysis system, soda ash prices were consolidating this week. As of October 30, the average market price was 1,186 RMB/ton, a 25.13% decrease compared to the same period last year. Downstream buyers were mostly purchasing on an as-needed basis.

Market outlook

According to analysts at SunSirs, sodium bicarbonate prices remained stable recently. Upstream raw material soda ash had also seen consolidation, while downstream sectors such as pharmaceuticals, textiles, and food primarily purchased on an as-needed basis, indicating moderate demand. Overall, sodium bicarbonate prices are expected to consolidate in the near future, depending on downstream market demand.
