SunSirs: China's Lithium Carbonate Imports Decline Month-on-Month in September

According to customs data, China imported approximately 19,600 metric tons of lithium carbonate in September 2025, marking a 10.3% decrease from the previous month but a 20.5% increase year-on-year. Cumulative imports from January to September reached 173,000 metric tons, up 5.2% compared to the same period last year.
Separately, Chilean customs released export data showing total lithium carbonate exports from Chile in September 2025 reached 15,918 metric tons, down 5.83% month-on-month and 12.74% year-on-year. Exports to China amounted to 11,101 metric tons, decreasing 14.5% month-on-month and 33.1% year-on-year.
